Dear Students and Parents,
We have just taken the end of the year Math assessment. This was a chance for the students and I to see what skills need some help right before the end of the year. The next week or so of school will be spent focusing on the skills students need.
Using their end of year scores and Jumprope progress reports, students have taken some time in class to complete a form to let me know that they would like one more attempt at scoring a three on certain skills. My goal in this is to keep students accountable for identifying the areas they need practice on. I will provide them with this attempt before the school year ends, and use that score to replace the score received on the end of year assessment. I am at school Wed and Thursday afternoons until 3 for extra help, and am available during the day at Schooner time. You can also work with your child to practice some of the skills they need.
Additionally, at the end of the year, I will send home a packet of summer practice skills. They do not need to be completed, but would be a good resource to keep the math mind fresh over the summer and practice the most important 5th grade skills we have learned this year.
Thanks for your continued support of your child,
Molly MacPherson
