Last week we took our Unit 5 Assessment. It will be coming home in Friday Folders this weekend. Along with the work on circle graphs, I assessed the students on all of the operations we've covered this year: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, with whole numbers and decimals. We've worked on these many times in class and I have pulled small groups to work on these skills multiple times. Students who have not met this standard yet consistently have some practice work to do before the retest. Any help you could provide students with at home - working carefully, checking their work after, or even just helping by checking with a calculator would benefit your child. My goal is to work with each child during Schooner time or HW club in the next few days. However, most of the errors were silly calculation errors or math fact errors. Practicing checking their work would help students with this mistake especially.
The Math practice is due on MONDAY Jan. 26th so that students have this week and the weekend to review and practice!
Thanks for all of your help and cooperation with this! It's important that students master these skills by the end of the year. They are the foundation for everything in Math!
